Ode To The Masters: A Celebration Of Artistic Legacy
“Ode to the Masters” is not merely an exhibition—it’s a journey through India’s most profound modern artistic expressions, unveiled at the perfect moment, just as Diwali illuminates the city. Presented by Cosmic Heart Gallery, this extraordinary collection gathers rare works of Gaitonde, Raza, Nasreen Mohamedi, and Souza, four of India’s most iconic masters. From Gaitonde’s tranquil watercolours to Raza’s meditative canvases, Mohamedi’s delicate abstractions, and Souza’s powerful figuration, every piece converses in harmony—each brushstroke echoing another in spiritual and visual rhythm.
This exhibition is more than a meeting of greats; it’s an awakening. As visitors move through the space, they traverse the serenity of Gaitonde’s compositions, the sacred geometry of Raza’s colour fields, the quiet introspection of Mohamedi’s lines, and the unapologetic boldness of Souza’s imagery. Together, they form an interwoven testament to artistic freedom, contemplation, and light—mirroring the essence of the festive season.
Cosmic Heart Gallery: Where Art Meets Purpose
Founded by visionary curator Jalpa H. Vithalani in 2012, Cosmic Heart Gallery has evolved into a sanctuary for art that transcends boundaries. Nestled in South Bombay, it has hosted over 300 transformative exhibitions, bringing together artists, collectors, and institutions in a shared pursuit of creative dialogue. Among its most celebrated initiatives, Eye of the Tiger stands as a beacon of art with purpose—mobilizing rural artists from Sawai Madhopur to create works advocating tiger conservation and sustainable livelihoods, showcased nationally at the Indian Museum, Kolkata.
Beyond exhibitions, the gallery’s collaborations with NGMA Delhi, NGMA Kolkata, J.J. School of Art, Iran Culture House, and the Consulate General of Argentina exemplify its mission to foster peace and intercultural understanding. Representing India at the United Nations and Art Bahrain Across Borders, Jalpa continues to advance the language of art as a tool for transformation and harmony.
Through each curatorial effort, Cosmic Heart Gallery nurtures an experience where art is not just seen—it is felt, lived, and celebrated. With “Ode to the Masters,” it rekindles that timeless dialogue between tradition and modernity, inviting audiences to immerse themselves in India’s radiant artistic legacy.
