Asin becomes face for Women's Empowerment Program

However, very few know that the actress has been funding the education of 6 orphaned girls in Kerala for the last 8 years, taking upon the responsibility of all their educational expenses for a lifetime. Says a source, “Asin was awarded for her contributions to women’s empowerment and welfare and The Kerala government had made her the face for its women’s empowerment program.
She has also received youth icon awards for the same. ” Emphasizing the need for education said Asin, “I have closely worked with these children and I know that if given the opportunity, women can educate themselves much better and know what is wrong or right for them. Education is a basic right and women should not be deprived of that.”
