Calgary Underground Film Festival explores dance on film at the Globe

This year, submissions to CIFF’s Alberta Spirit awards alone attracted 12 dance shorts from local filmmakers.
“There are so many great dance films that aren’t being seen, if at all, by a very small community,” says Tilley. “I keep getting sent these films and never see them playing anywhere. So I just assume they are not really reaching an audience. That’s a shame because there are a lot of great dance films, even specifically coming out of Calgary.”
So on Saturday, the Calgary Underground Film Festival, well-known for its celebration of off-the-beaten-path genres, will be teaming up with Dancers’ Studio West to present an evening of dance films at the Globe Cinema.
