Having a green thumb is a blessing in today’s world. It may not be as common anymore, since city life keeps everyone on their toes, but Our Lady of Perpetual Succour (OLPS) High School in Chembur is making sure Mumbai’s future is a little bit greener. Their students are now proud little gardeners, as they present their fully fledged terrace garden, grown from scratch. The Hindu reported that Father Gregory is the man behind this initiative, and set the wheels in motion in July, 2016. As part of his effort to instill some much needed love for our environment, in his students, 240 students from the eighth grade were picked to set up the terrace garden. The students are visited by farming groups like Start Upcycling Now (SUN) and iKheti, and have an assigned period called, ‘Work Experience’ in school to work on their garden.
