Bollywood star Celina Jaitly, who speaks out on behalf of LGBT people in India and worldwide, will be honored Friday night by the Harvey Milk Foundation at the second Diversity Honors at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood.

“Now, when we speak of violence and discrimination against members of the LGBT community, we refer to certain serious human rights violations – not some frivolous distraction. Homophobic attitudes fuel discrimination in various spheres of life, including workplaces, schools, clinics and hospitals,” Jaitley wrote Feb. 6 in a blog post also published in the Hindustan Times
