‘Walls of Kindness’ Are Popping Up Across India & They’re Making Winter Warmer

The process behind it was simple. Hangers were put up with winter clothes, beside a wall with only one instruction — take what you need, leave what you don’t.
To take up an initiative like that seemed dubious in India, considering our society has a more dog eat dog philosophy than a humanitarian feel to it. Then again, our country is full of surprises. The first wall was set up in Bhilwara, Rajasthan according to a report by The Hindustan Times. A couple proposed the idea to Pradeep Singh Sangawat of the Urban Improvement Trust (UIT), who seemed skeptical at first.
