A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Sustainable Development Focus (SUDEF) in Sunyani has called on government to focus on solar energy to enable the nation benefit from its enormous economic benefits. Mr. John Baidoo, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the NGO made the call in a press release issued to the media on Thursday to precede this year’s World Water Day celebration which falls on Saturday, March 22, on the theme “Water and Energy.”SUDEF advocates and educates communities on the need to keep good sanitation and proper hygiene to ensure safe-drinking for quality health. The release stated that water and energy were interlinked and interdependent as energy generation and transmission required utilisation of water resources, particularly for hydroelectric, nuclear and thermal energy resources.
