Thor: The Dark World
by The Daily Eye Team November 8 2013, 6:39 pm Estimated Reading Time: 1 min, 1 secThor: The Dark World narrates a predictable superhero story that is visually mesmerizing. A visual spectacle, the plot’s predictability does not interfere in the process of enjoying this movie.
The characters of Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) share a great chemistry on screen, who are brought together by the mutual anguish they suffer, having lost their mother Frigga (Rene Russo).
Despite great performances by Anthony Hopkins (Odin) and Christian Eccleston (Malekith) the plot fails to grip you. This film suffers from being a sequel, where no new landmarks are achieved rather the success pointers of the first film are imbibed for guaranteed success. One can only wonder the sort of cinema studios can create with a budget of $170 million and some real plots in place to make true cinema.
The director Alan Taylor has done a great job of tying up all loose ends as far as cinematic appeal is concerned and thus delivered a box office success.
Thor is not a personal favorite, thus the lack of knowledge about how well were the comic books replicated. As a pointer I would suggest staying in your seat till the end of the credits to enjoy the last scene, a Marvel trademark.
