Lewiston Celebrates First Day Of Film Festival

Red light streamed in through curtains on second-floor windows. Locals filed in, chatting and finding refreshments and eventually finding their seats for a night to celebrate films. Lewiston's very first film festival was off to a good start Friday night.The Lewiston Council on the Arts is hosting the Lewiston Film Festival this weekend. The event, which started Friday and continues today, features the screening of a total of 13 family-friendly films for the local community.
Between 30 and 40 people came out for the festival on Friday. Among attendees were Lewiston Mayor Terry Collesano and Trustee Bruce Sutherland. Eva Nicklas, artistic director for Lewiston Council on the Arts, said events like this usually need at least three years to gain momentum, and this year was off to a great start.
