Virtual-Reality Film Festival To Hit 10 Cities In North America

The Kaleidoscope VR Film Festival will feature demos of about 20 short films from filmmakers around the world, including the U.S., Canada, the Netherlands, South Korea and Czech Republic. The fest is produced by San Francisco-based Kaleidoscope VR, a talent agency dedicated to virtual realityfounded in May 2015 entrepreneur René Pinnell and former Industrial Light & Magic technical director Michael Breymann. The festival kicks off Aug. 22 in Portland, traveling to nine other cities across North America: Seattle, Vancouver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Montreal, Toronto, New York City and Austin, Texas. The Kaleidoscope VR Film Festival also will include talks by top VR filmmakers and industry members, while letting attendees experience the films on equipment supplied by Samsung and Facebook’s Oculus VR.
