Subhash Chandra-promoted Zee Media Corporation Ltd (ZMCL) is planning to launch its proposed English news channel towards the end of the current fiscal. “The channel will be launched in February–March,” Chandra said. However, when asked about ZMCL’s talks with CNN, Chandra refused to reveal anything. “I don’t want to say anything about that at this point,” he said. Chandra had participated in IAA Conversations’ discussion on ‘News Neutrality’ with journalist Shankkar Aiyer wherein he took questions on critical issues concerning the news broadcasting sector. He also said that the company is tying in advertisers as founding partners for the proposed channel.
