Health is a complex subject in a country like India where glaring contradictions exist. Nevertheless, great attempts have been made to improvise and achieve levels of health which can be considered basic and decent by civilians. India has emerged through the chaos of World War II and popular Governments from Post-Independence India have made honest attempts to understand this structure through creating infrastructure. Bhore committee showcased several reforms to achieve health coverage.
