In an Antarctic rescue of global warming believers that can only be described as poetic, the headlines keep on coming. Activists, researchers and journalists of the Russian ice-breaker Akademik Shokalskiy were originally ice-bound 2 nautical miles from open sea, but found themselves 16 miles away only a week later. All this during the Antarctic summer.

The Chinese icebreaker sent to help the Russian icebreaker was itself frozen into the icepack. The Australian icebreaker sent to rescue the Chinese icebreaker was ordered to stand down, lest it too be frozen into the icepack. The Aussies called the cavalry (U.S. Coast Guard) to rescue the icebreakers.

Al Gore should be held liable for the costs incurred to rescue his starry-eyed followers from this failed global warming research mission. Gore should be ordered to wear a sign declaring, “It’s the Sun, Stupid!”

In case you didn’t know, the sun is the primary weather-maker in our solar system. Humans cause but a mere fraction of the impact on climate change to which Earth has always been subjected. If you believe that cow flatulence and our own exhales are causing climate change, please pay my share of the proposed carbon-tax and increased utility costs
