Weather prediction involves a lot of probabilities (and no certainties) and informed guesses, but weather observation gets better every year. In part we can thank NASA's Terra and Aqua satellites, both of which are equipped with MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) instruments.
