UN urges Portugal to improve breastfeeding practices

IBFAN Portugal, one of the most recent members to join the International Baby Food Action Network (IBFAN), is upping its efforts to improve the promotion and support of breastfeeding in a bid to improve the health of babies and children in Portugal. This comes after a recently-released UN report urged the country to “improve the practice of exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months” as well as “strengthen the monitoring of existing marketing regulations relating to breast milk substitutes”.
