However, after hours of waiting, they were confronted with the devastating truth upon seeing her battered and bruised body. The sheer torture inflicted upon her by the perpetrator(s) revealed the unimaginable horror she endured before her death. This case is a stark reminder of the brutal realities women face, even in places where they should feel safe.

The Growing Epidemic of Violence Against Women

The safety and survival of women, and even children, are becoming increasingly precarious. The recent atrocities in Manipur, where Kuki women were raped and murdered, and the disturbing Hindutva campaigns defending the rapists and murderers of eight-year-old Asifa Bano in Kathua, are alarming examples.
