Mental disorders are still taboo, and whatever limited conversation revolves around them has resulted in incorrect, dramatized understanding of them. Even now, there is hardly any basic education around recognizing people with the disorder, worse still - they're left to deal with jokes and mockery. These movies took a stand, and for once showed us the real deal, the horrors that people dealing with mental illnesses go through, and we are so thankful.
