One of Hollywood’s leading actresses says women are looked at differently for picking business over babies. “Bring It On” star Gabrielle Union opened up to Redbook magazine about how much some women must sacrifice to make it professionally – and how it’s often met with unfair backlash. “There’s a certain amount of shame that is placed on women who have perhaps chosen a career over starting a family younger,” she told the magazine. “The penance for being a career woman is barrenness. You feel like you’re wearing a scarlet letter.”
Union, 42, is married to NBA star Dwayne Wade, 33. She’s the stepmother to his three children, but she doesn’t have any kids of her own.
